Public Administration deals with the nature and association of the State, Society
and Administration. The subject gives knowledge of the administrative methods, techniques
and theories. Today’s competitive world needs strong administrator to control and
manage the critical situations and personnel, and to manage all categories of management.
The administrator must have the knowledge of management, economics, law etc. to
do such a job.
Courses in the discipline:
Graduation, Post Graduation and Ph.D. are the programs under the discipline. Many
universities offer the programs in distant mode also.
Eligibility:
Passing in 10 + 2 is the academic eligibility for the Bachelor Degree. Any degree
from a recognized university is the eligibility for the Post Graduation program.
The Post Graduation Degree in the stream is necessary for those who wish to study
further in the discipline.

Preparing for civil services is the choice of many aspirants which allows playing
major roles of the administration. UPSC is the commission which conducts the exam
for the recruitment in All India, Central and State Services. Indian Administrative
Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS) are
few of the services that recruit through the commission.
The one who wishes to settle in the government job may also choose state government
and local government administrative organizations.
Teaching is another major option. B.Ed. and passing in TET or CTET are the requirements
for the School teacher. Post graduation as well as passing in the National Eligibility
Test (NET) is the requirement of lectureship. The test also provides Fellowship.
