About AILET Entrance Exam
The AILET or the All India Law Entrance Exam is a qualifying test for students seeking admission to the various law colleges in the difference states of India. The different law colleges conduct various courses ranging from Degree course in law to the masters programs in law. Students can seek admission to the 5 year integrated course in which they attend the Bachelor’s degree along with the two years of study of Law. Conducted by one of the premium universities in India, the Law University is essentially a university that is managed by the Central Government. The Law University was established in 2008 by the Government of India and was set up in New Delhi. There are 80 seats in total for which admission is sought. Through the entrance examination 70 sears are earmarked for the students on the merit ranking based on their performance of the entrance test. Only about 10% of seats are set aside for foreign nationals who are also allowed to seek admission through the entrance test.

Besides being open to Indian citizens the university encourages admission to foreign nationals too, so competition for the AILET Entrance Exam is tough. The eligibly criteria required is the Higher Secondary Examination or the 10+2 certification at the school level with 50% aggregate marks in the General category and 65% marks for the foreign nationals. Candidates awaiting their qualifying examination results are also eligible on condition that they are able to produce the qualifying certificate at the time of their admission.

For the Bachelor’s degree program the AILNET Entrance exam consists of topics like English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude with each section being given equal importance. A combination of objective and subjective type of questions appear in the LLM AILNET Entrance exam. The topics covered include, the various aspects of law, constitutional law, criminal and all the other aspects of law.
How to apply for AILET Entrance Exam
Most students are actually apprehensive about How to apply for the AILNET. The application form is available to download on the website of the National Law University and must be filled and sent online. The application fee is to be paid by all candidates interested in taking up the AILNET Entrance exam. The application fee is Rs. 3000/- for General and OBC candidates and for SC/ST and Disabled people, it is Rs.1000/-. A demand draft can also be drawn towards The Registrar, National Law University, which is payable at Delhi. Disabled and SC/ST must also attach a proof of their caste status. All applicants “Below Poverty Line” are exempted from paying application fees. All the supporting documents must be attached along with the application form to be considered.
AILET Entrance Exam Pattern
The AILNET Entrance exam is completely objective in structure with multiple choice Questions. There are 150 questions to be answered and it must be done so in a span of 90 minutes. Of all the sections in the AILNET Entrance exam paper, minimum weightage
For the LLM, there are 100 objective questions and a descriptive type question which is usually an essay to be done in 90 minutes.
