About BTEUP Entrance Exam
The BTEUP Entrance Exam is an entrance conducted by the Board of Technical Education in Uttar Pradesh. It is conducted annually for students who want to seek admission in the different disciplines of Engineering and other diploma courses that come under the purview of technical education in the various polytechnic colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The Board of Technical Education functions under the aegis of the Directorate of Technical Education. It is also known as UP Polytechnic Examination or the Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh.
Eligibility Criteria for BTEUP Entrance Exam
Students aspiring to seek admission into the various polytechnic college are required to have completed the 10th standard of high school education with a minimum of aggregate 35% marks. The students who have completed their +2 or Higher Secondary, or their Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University are also eligible to sit for BTEUP Entrance Exam for enrolment into the various disciplines in the polytechnic colleges of UP. Candidates from the state of Uttar Pradesh are eligible to appear for the BTEUP Entrance Exam for admission to the technical colleges of the state run by the government.

BTEUP Entrance Exam Syllabus
The BTEUP Entrance Exam is conducted on almost all disciplines ranging from Mechanical, Electrical and other traditional engineering courses to non- traditional courses like textile and plastic engineering. Many vocational and professional courses like hotel management, travel and tourism, dairy farming. Ceramic and glass engineering and similar courses are also available. The BTEUP Entrance Exam syllabus would depend on the chosen discipline. However, the general syllabus is basedon the 10th standard syllabus of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
How to apply for BTEUP Entrance Exam
The application procedure for the BTEUP Entrance Exam is quite simple. Students are required to submit their application online. The candidate should visit the official website of the BTEUP Entrance Exam which is www.jeecup.org or www.bteup.nic.in.and select the online application form for the UP polytechnic entrance examination. The application form that open up needs to be filled in as per instructions. They need to make the payments, the amount and the methods are specified and the proof of payment must be sent along with the application form as also the other documents that are requested. Applications must reach the office on or before the specified last date. The application fee for General candidates is Rs.300/- and for the Reserved candidates it is Rs.200/-. On successful completion of the BTEUP Entrance Exam candidates are called for counselling after the admission process is complete.
BTEUP Entrance Exam Pattern
The BTEUP Entrance Exam pattern is set with objective type questions with multiple Choice answer and is conducted in both English and Hindi. The questions are based on portions of the 10th Standard syllabus. The total marks for the paper is 120 for the 120 questions that the paper is comprised of. There are 30 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and the Mathematics portion has 60 questions. To be declared qualified for admission, the candidates are required to score the standardized minimum pass percentile.
