About NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam
The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a body set up by the Government of India in 1982 to further the education in the field of Hospitality management and relative studies. The Council conducts the NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam for candidates aspiring to be enrolled in the various degree courses in the field of hospitality, Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The degree course is offered in jointly in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University.
NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria
The basic qualification for the NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam is +2 / Higher Secondary. The subjects studied include English apart from the Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The minimum age limit for application is 22 years for General and OBC categories of candidates and for the SC/ST it is 25 years. A physical fitness certificate is mandatory for the application to be considered. Reservation of seats is available for candidates as per the specifications for the Institutes of Hotel Management.

NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam Syllabus
The NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam does not have a prescribed syllabus, therefore, only the general capabilities of the candidate are tested. Basically, the candidate needs to gather information on the hospitality industry, the service sectors, and have a high logical reasoning ability. A good command over the English language is essential. Grammar, Comprehension skills and vocabulary are tested in the English paper.
How to apply for NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam
Applications for the NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam can be made by obtaining the application form from the office of the NCHMCT and also submitted after duly filling it up along with the fees which is fees of Rs.800/- (General & OBC) and Rs.400/- (SC/ST) and all the required documents. Payment can be made by Demand Draft. Alternatively, applications can be sent online and for the online mode the payment can be made by Credit Card.
NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam Pattern
The NCHMCT JEE Entrance Exam question paper is set in English and Hindi and is made up of objective type questions with multiple choice answers. There is a total of 200 questions divided as follows.
- 30 questions each in Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction and General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
- 60 Questions in English Language Test
- 50 Questions that test the aptitude for the Service Sector.
English is given high priority and hence candidates scoring high marks in English is given a higher ranking in the rank list. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 marks is deducted for every wrong answer. The total of the wrong answer is a deduction from the complete total marks scored at the end of the paper.
