About PGEE Entrance Exam
International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) –Hyderabad conducts PGEE (Post Graduate Engineering Examination) for admission to their M.S. (Master of Science) by Research, M. Tech (Master of Technology) and Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) programs. These programs are in the areas of Bioinfomatics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Aided Structural Engineering, Computational Linguistics, IT in Building Science, Humanities and Spatial Informatics (Remote Sensing and GIS). The institute also offers Dual Degree and M.Sc in Computational Natural Science.

PGEE Entrance Exam Syllabus
Paper 1 is a General Aptitude Paper. This objective paper is compulsory for everyone. The paper tests the candidates on logical reasoning, basic aptitude as well as basic questions on mathematics and computers.
The 2nd paper is a subject paper like Mathematics, Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computational Linguistics, Structural Engineering and Computer Science. The candidate has to appear for relevant subject based on the qualifying graduation.
The syllabus for Mathematics includes Group, Ring and Field, Finite Dimensional Liner Vector Space, Real Analysis, Probability Theory, Complex Analysis, Optimization and Ordinary Differential Equation. The Computer Science syllabus tests for subject knowledge as well as the candidate’s ability to write C or C++ Programs. The Electronics and Communications Engineering paper is divided into 2 parts: Part A- Electronics and Part B – Signal Processing and Communication. The Structural Engineering paper includes questions from Engineering Mathematics as well as Structural Engineering. The Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinfomatics (CCNSB) paper comprises of 3 sections Biology & Bioinfomatics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates need to attempt any one section as major and another as a minor part. The Computational Linguistics paper tests the candidate's ability to analyze natural language texts specifically with regard to basic grammatical structures and morphology.
How to apply for PGEE Entrance Exam
All applications should be submitted online through the PGEE portal. The application procedure is divided into a Pre-registration Form and a Main Registration Form. On submission of the completed pre-registration form, the candidate shall receive an email with the link and identification code to the Main Registration Form. The payment may be made online through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking when completing the Main Registration Form.
PGEE Entrance Exam Pattern
The PGEE examination conducted at selected centers all over India consists of 2 papers. There is no negative marking in the PGEE examination. The candidate need to score a pre-set minimum marks for the evaluation of paper 2. Both papers need to be completed in 90 minutes each.
