NIT stands for National Institute of Technology. There is a chain of institutions started by the Government of India. Andhra Pradesh has an NIT at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. It started functioning from the year 2015. As the college is under the construction, only few of the programs are been offered with 480 seats running in the temporary campus.

Being the newly established college as mentioned above, the college currently offers only 8 programs of Engineering. There is a proposal to increase the number of programs gradually. Few of the programs that are currently offered are Computer Science and Engineering, Bio-Technology, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

For the admission in NIT, one must clear JEE (Mains). The admission process basically depends on the All India Rank (AIR) of JEE (Main) and the score percentage of class 12 examination. The seats are filled in quota based. 50% of the declared seats of each branch are filled under Local or Home State quota and other 50% filled under Non-Local or Other State quota.
