The National Institute of Technology of Tamil Nadu is located at Trichy. Though the institute is established in the year 1964 as Regional Engineering Colleges, it is upgraded into NIT in later years. The institute is recognized as Institute of National Importance. The college is popular with the acronym NITT. For the admission into Undergraduate Engineering/ Architecture programs candidates must pass 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with god score. The admission process considers the score in 10 + 2 and the score in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. M.Tech. admission is based on the GATE score. Students who score more than 60% in relevant Graduation program are eligible for the entrance test conducted by the institute for the admission into M.Sc. program. For MCA - NIMCET Entrance Exam and for MBA - CAT are the considerable examinations.
