The National Institute of Technology of West Bengal is situated in Durgapur. The institute is established in the year 1960. It was initially established as Regional Engineering College and later in the year 2003, it was upgraded into National Institute of Technology. Now the college is popular with the acronym NITDGP. With the motto ‘Work Makes a Man’, the college produces thousands of engineering graduates. As the campus is located in urban area, the students can access the campus easily.

JEE Mains score and the score secured in 10+2, passed with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English, are considered during the admission procedure of B.Tech. 60% of JEE Mains and 40% of 10+2 score is considered. GATE score needed for M.Tech., CAT score is considered for MBA and NIMCET score / score attained in the test conducted by the college, are considered for M.Sc.
